Epstein and Hassan have been married for a whopping 29 years. Here, they share their secrets to happiness through a technique they’ve named BlackJewLove Technology.
Should you see it?
Epstein and Hassan aren’t shy about what makes a good marriage, or concerned with political correctness. They discuss sex, race and religion, all with frankness and a good sense of humor. There’s something distinctly New York about their outspoken charm.
And yet, I felt very comfortable in the theatre with them, like I was in a safe space. It felt like less of a theatrical production and more of a relationship happiness workshop. They even go so far as to supply the audience with a safe word of sorts if they don’t want to partake in the frequent audience participation.
Epstein and Hassan’s chemistry is off the charts, and it really does look like they’re having a blast on stage. With their philosophy and outlook on life, I could see them being fantastic marriage counselors.
That being said, I’m still not sure if I totally grasp the concept of BlackJewLove Technology and the Buddhist angle comes in a little late in the show. I didn’t mind all that much, though. Epstein and Hassan have enough charm, wisdom to share and entertaining tidbits to make this a show worth watching.
